Privacy Policy
Last updated August 26th, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Corrie Blissit, LMFT ("Corrie," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit corrieblissit.com (the "Site"). This policy applies to the Site itself. It does not describe how protected health information (PHI) is handled once you become a therapy client — that is governed separately by HIPAA and the Notice of Privacy Practices provided to clients at intake.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. When you fill out the contact or consultation request form on this Site, we collect information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this Site is hosted on Squarespace and may automatically collect certain technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and general location (such as city or region) derived from your IP address. This is typically collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).
Scheduling and client information. If you become a client, appointment scheduling and clinical communications are handled through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant platform, and are governed by SimplePractice's own privacy and security practices along with your signed client paperwork — not by this website Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information collected through this Site to:
Respond to consultation requests and inquiries submitted through the contact form
Communicate with prospective clients about scheduling and services
Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve its content and functionality
Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site
Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use information submitted through the contact form for unrelated marketing purposes without your consent.
3. How We Share Information
We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
With service providers who help operate the Site or support scheduling (such as Squarespace and SimplePractice), who are only permitted to use your information to provide those services
If required by law, court order, or governmental request
To protect the safety of any person, in accordance with applicable legal and ethical obligations (including mandatory reporting requirements that apply to licensed therapists)
With your consent
4. Cookies and Analytics
This Site may use cookies and similar tracking technologies, including those provided by Squarespace's built-in analytics, to understand visitor traffic and improve the Site experience. These tools may collect information such as pages visited, time spent on the Site, and general location. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some Site features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
(If you add tools like Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or email marketing software such as Mailchimp to the Site, this section should be updated to name them specifically and describe what data they collect.)
5. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information submitted through this Site. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid submitting sensitive health information through the general contact form; standard web forms and email are not a secure or confidential method of communication.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you. California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion, subject to certain exceptions.
To make a request, contact us using the information in Section 9.
7. Children's Privacy
This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this Site.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
